KLA March in Pristina Marks Liberation Day

As part of the events marking Pristina's Liberation Day, a Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) march was held in the capital today. The march began at Zahir Pajaziti Square and concluded at Skënderbeu Square, where former members of the Kosovo Liberation Army paraded dressed in their wartime uniforms. Before the march set off, tributes were paid at the statue of national hero Zahir Pajaziti. The tribute ceremony was attended by KLA war veterans as well as the Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama. Rama said the march was organised to honour the sacrifice of the fighters and fallen soldiers who contributed to the country's freedom. "We have held this march as a mark of remembrance for the great sacrifice, for the values of the Kosovo Liberation Army, and for each martyr, for each family that gave up everything so that today we might have freedom and democracy, so that today we can come together and plan for the future of our country," Rama said. Events marking Pristina's Liberation Day began in the early morning hours with tributes and a solemn session, and are expected to continue throughout the evening with further activities across the capital.
